3. She strongly voices her beliefs
Statements like, “My daughter should be tough and independent: she doesn’t need some guy around to support her” are polarizing. She has strong beliefs and has no qualms about arguing for them. It is good to have an opinion and be willing to defend it, but when someone overcommits to an idea and won’t accept differing opinions, they seem close minded and stubborn. If she could add a phrase like “no offense but” when contributing to a debate, she might be able to change people’s impression of her.
